Time.

Every now and again when I’ve had a chance to stop whatever it is that I am doing, I find myself in total denial at how fast time actaully moves. With that feeling, I sometimes feel regret. Regret that I can’t spend more time with my wife and son. I am grateful that I get to work from home, but it is sometimes difficult to hear Kara and Dallin in the other room playing, when I am stuck in my office working. At first, Kara used to hold him and bring him to my office door waiting to see if it was an okay time to come in and say hi. Now, I hear the sound of pitter-patter on the carpet as Dallin crawls into my office on his own. He is growing so fast.

Today (May 7) was his 10 month birthday. 10 months already?!? It hit me when Kara and I went on a date this evening and we began discussing what we want to do for his 1 year birthday. I don’t want him to grow up. There are still some things I feel unprepared for. I hope and pray that I will be the mentor that he needs throughout his life. I’ll let you know how it goes.

Vancouver Temple Dedication.

My wife and I had the privilege of attending the Vancouver LDS Temple dedication this morning. It was a wonderful occasion symbolizing another step in the right direction for the Church in British Columbia. The temple, located in Langley British Columbia will serve more than 20,000 Latter-Day Saints throughout BC and Northern Washington.

Some highlights for me were that some of my family members actually got to participate in today’s events from singing in the choir, to help lay mortar in the cornerstone with the Apostles and Prophet. My Niece and Nephew – Avery & Cloe were called forward by President Thomas S. Monson to assist in laying mortar in the cornerstone ceremony. What an amazing memory for them that they can cherish throughout their lives.

I look forward to attending the temple as often as circumstances permit, so that I can be a part of an eternal family.

The one person that read my blog before will testify that this is my kazillionth attempt at keeping a blog. It has definitely been a while since my previous “kazillionth” attempt which probably explains my overwhelming desire to start blogging again. This sort of thing happens every few months or so. I know what your thinking. I’m pathetic. Do you know what I’m thinking though? Your right…if we’re talking about keeping a blog, than I am thinking that I am pretty pathetic too. That’s besides the point though. I’m here now aren’t I?

Let’s see what happens. This could be the time that blogging really sticks for me; w hen I can sit in front of the computer and already know what I want to say. No more intimidation by the blank WordPress text editor! I’m optimistic and ready to write…just not anymore tonight. I’ve run out of things to say.
